The Secretary-General of the Democratic Confederation of Labour (CDT), Abdelkader Al-Zayer, asked Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch to urgently have a tripartite social dialogue, to institutionalize dialogue, negotiate issues of the working class, and address social conflicts, and study the repercussions of the pandemic on the conditions of working people.
In his letter, Al-Zayer affirmed the confederation’s call for the government to urgently start a tripartite social dialogue within the framework of national legislations and international conventions on the need to institutionalize tripartite social dialogue, and also in light of the absence of social dialogue with the two previous governments.
It is worth noting that the CDT refused to sign the social agreement in 2019 due to the failure of the then Prime Minister, Saad Eddinne El-Othmani, to consider the proposals and amendments of the confederation on the tripartite social agreement project.
