Algeria: The Trade Union of Public Health Officials denounces the ministry’s indifference to their demands

Due to the Ministry of Health’s indifference, public health officials announced a strike on 13, 14, and 15 December.

The trade union issued a statement saying that it took all necessary measures to inform all concerned parties, sent correspondence presenting its conditions and lists of demands a month ago, and sent a request to meet with the Minister of Health, but to no avail.

The trade union took into consideration the difficult health conditions the country has been going through. However, the ministry has been ignoring their demands.

The trade union calls for revising the basic law of the joint bodies, grades, and the compensation system, including that of doctors, dentists, and pharmacists, and addressing the unequal pay and the lack of career development.

The union threatened to escalate its protests if the Ministry of Health keeps ignoring their demands.
