Universal Group workers have ended their strikethat started due to the company’s failure to comply with the agreement concluded with the workers last Saturday. According to the agreement, workers will receive on Tuesday 12 October the remaining part of the salaries for the month of July. The administration, however, informed the workers that it has no cash which led the workers to protest one more time.
On Wednesday, October 13, the Ministry of Manpower intervened to end the workers’ strike in exchange for the administration’s commitment and disbursement of the remaining amounts. The company complied and the workers returned to work.
