Thabet Group Companies, one of the largest industrial and commercial groups in Yemen, has announced that it will soon be forced to close its factories and relocate abroad, which will put more than 12,000 workers out of work and cause a supply crisis in the country.
In a statement, the group called on the warring parties to “secure the perimeter of its factories in the Al Hudaydah region and put an end to the armed conflicts there.” The statement added that the “Thabet Group Companies has sacrificed a lot to continue serving the interests of the country and its citizens while other companies preferred to leave the country and go abroad.”
The group called on the warring parties to take its sacrifices into consideration and “spare the citizens from additional difficulties that would result from a halt in production.”
