The heads of trade unions in the sectors of mining, spinning and weaving, banking, construction, petrochemicals, paper and cardboard, air transport, municipalities, food industries, health services, private education, and public services, along with members of the Executive Office of the General Federation of Jordanian Trade Unions, participated in a meeting with the Minister of Labour. This meeting, which took place on Monday, October 19, dealt with the concerns and demands of workers in various sectors.
The trade union side requested more cooperation and coordination to overcome the economic challenges following the sanitary crisis, especially developing the social protection system for workers, particularly in the informal economy sector.
The President of the General Federation of Jordanian Trade Unions, Mazen Al-Maaytah, praised the readiness of the Ministry for cooperation, addressing the importance of working on legislations regulating work.
