The medical and auxiliary medical trade unions in Libya called for a protest on Thursday, in front of the Council of Ministers in the capital, Tripoli. The Libyan Doctors’ Syndicate threatened to go on a strike in Libyan clinics, due to the government’s indifference to the workers’ demands.
In light of the government’s indifference to the demands of health sector workers, the trade unions issued a statement on Wednesday, October 13th, saying that the protest would be the last warning.
The general medical and paramedical trade unions are calling for the activation of the decision to No. 885 of 2019 increase their salaries and expressing gratitude to the medical and paramedical staff who died due to the fight against COVID-19.
