A representative of the Union of Bank Employees in Lebanon and the administration of the National Social Security Fund met on September 17 to discuss the situation of workers and civil servants who were dismissed without any reference to Article 50 of the Labour Law.
In this context, the trade union discussed the outcome of the initiative on end-of-service compensation, which aims to protect the purchasing power.
The two parties also returned to the definitions currently used by the fund with its clients, which have not been brought into line with inflation and the drop of the national currency. In this context, the trade union delegation denounced the guarantee sums demanded by hospitals before providing the necessary care to insured patients.
