In the 47th Arab Labour Conference, the International Labour Organisation (ILO) organised on 6 September a preparatory meeting of donors to study the Palestinian national employment strategy and to assess the resources needed to finance it.
During the meeting, ILO Regional Director for Arab States, Ruba Jaradat, discussed the impact of COVID-19 on the Palestinian labour market and revealed that the health crisis has caused the loss of about 161,000 jobs in the country.
Ruba Jaradat renewed ILO’s commitment to support Palestine through its Decent Work Programme and the Donors’ Conference to be held in March 2022 in Geneva.
