The workers of the first shift of Universal’s factories, specialised in the manufacture of electrical appliances, have been protesting since 20 September to demand the payment of their salaries, which have been blocked for three months.
The workers have decided to keep protesting in the factory until their salaries and grants are paid, in particular the risk grant which has been blocked for 30 months.
The Ministry of Manpower has failed to reach a compromise with the factory’s administration for the payment of the workers’ salaries, who have accused the company’s managers of defrauding the ministerial committee.
