The Syndicate of Municipal Workers and Employees in Lebanon called on the Ministry of Finance to include workers in municipalities and municipal unions to the list of beneficiaries from the cost-of-living advance grant.
In light of the economic crisis that affected large groups of workers, the Ministry of Finance recently decided to offer a cost-of-living advance grant to all employees of public administrations and security forces, equal to a one-month salary for each employee. The decision, however, did not include municipality workers.
They demanded the intervention of trade unions to include them. The Syndicate of Municipal Workers and Employees will launch a strike if the workers’ demand will not be met.
