On August 24, the security forces intervened to end the protests of workers at Aqaba Ports Corporation (APC), after the death of a handling worker in an accident with heavy objects falling on him at the work site and to express their anger at the lack of safety measures in such a dangerous profession.
It is worth noting that about 700 contracting workers of Al-Mawani Company had several protests to demand their inclusion in the company, ending the contract system, and receiving their grants.
