The High Commission for Planning in Morocco issued a memorandum on the situation of the labour market during the second half of 2021. It revealed an increase in the number of unemployed people in the country, reaching one million and 605 thousand people, an increase of 128,000 unemployed compared to the same period last year. The unemployment rate currently stands at 12.8% at the national level.
The memorandum indicated that unemployment affects the youth between 15 and 24 years, representing 30.8% of the total unemployed. Also, holders of scientific degrees represent 20.4% of the total, while women represent 15.9% of the total.
