In response to the workers’ protest, LORD International dismissed 38 workers and terminated their contracts.
The workers started their protests on July 26 to demand a salary increase in accordance with the minimum wage, allow tenure, and change the contract system to a one-year contract and allow workers to sign a three-month contract before the expiration of their initial one. The workers’ demands were met with indifference.
