A new study by the British research centre Autonomy revealed new findings after conducting two experiments in the capital of Iceland on 2,500 workers for five years. The study has attracted the attention of the media.
The experiments included reducing the working hours to 35 hours while maintaining the same salary and they were both launched in 2015 and 2017.
The result showed rather positive results particularly concerning the workers and their state. According to the study, the performance of workers improved and the productivity level was kept the same and/or increased with less working hours. The conclusion of the study is the longer the working hours, the lesser the productivity.
