The trade union of taxi professionals considered that the decision of reducing the capacity of public and group transportation to 50%, announced by the Moroccan government on July 19, will not be beneficial to them. Transport professionals organized several protests in all regions of the country against the new decision.
The Democratic Organization for Multimodal Transportation and Logistics criticized this decision, explaining that the taxi sector has been affected by COVID-19 since its beginning, and that this decision also damages the relationship between the drivers and the clients due to the high prices.
In this regard, the Democratic Union of Labour confirmed that the protests of taxi drivers will continue, in light of the authorities’ indifference to the demands of professionals and until a dialogue is opened about the economic and social damages of these decisions.
