The Ministry of Labour approved new procedures to help employers benefit from the legal settlement period for non-Jordanian workers in 2021, which began on July 4, 2021 and continues until September 2, 2021.
The new ministerial decisions specifically stipulate the right of non-Jordanian workers working in the agricultural, bakery, and clothing and textile industries to change to different sectors or businesses according to specific conditions.
Daily workers in agriculture and construction are also allowed to change to other allowed activities, provided they participate in social security.
The decisions also included licensing foreign male domestic workers to change to a different sector, provided that the work permit expired or has been cancelled without the approval of the home owner.
