On June 17, 2021, a royal decree was issued to add a new clause in the unemployment insurance law, which recognizes compensation of up to 100% of the wages of Bahraini workers in companies affected by the pandemic.
Under the decree, a percentage of the wages of Bahraini workers covered by the Social Insurance Law will be paid to workers in companies affected by COVID-19.
Payment is made for a period of three months starting from June 2021, with a maximum amount of 100% for June 2021 and 50% for the following two months.
