About 3,000 drivers employed by the smart transportation application Careem started a strike two weeks ago. The drivers decided to refuse trip requests through the application when the administration refused to reduce the amount it takes from the cost of the trip.
The strike began with about 1,000 drivers, and gradually increased to 3,000 drivers. The company, however, still refuses the workers’ demands. The drivers demanded the Jordanian Land Transport Regulatory Authority to intervene and compel the company to reduce its percentage of the cost of trips.
