In May 2021, Capital Markets Supervision Directorate (CMSD) launched a wage protection system that requires employers to transfer the wages of foreign workers in the private sector to the financial and banking institutions approved in the country.
It is one of the new measures aimed at developing a safe work environment, to preserve the rights of migrant workers in Bahrain and to ensure that they receive their monthly wages on time. This decision would contribute to reducing problems related to salaries and to speed up the process.
