Tunisia: Water and air conditioning cut off for textile factory workers

Last week, the North African Textile Company in Sfax suspended work at the factory by cutting off drinking water and air conditioning for workers.

The labour office of Sfax denounced the company’s measures considering it a violation of the labour laws and asked the company to end it and resume work.

It is worth noting that the factory is witnessing tension due to the violation of trade union rights. The workers started a 4-day strike last June to demand reconsidering the productivity grant and provide full pay yearly holidays. They, also, demanded work uniforms for the year 2021 and payment cards.
