The General Federation of Trade Unions (GFTU) denounced the attack on workers in a textile factory in Dhi Qar by security forces on July 25, stressing the legitimacy of their protest and demands.
Contractual workers in a textile factory in Dhi Qar protested in front of the factory to demand the payment of their salaries, the implementation of Order 315, and the improvement of their working conditions. The protestors were beaten by the police.
It is worth noting that Order 315, which was approved by the Iraqi Council of Ministers in 2019, included mechanisms for integrating contractual and daily-wage workers within governmental institutions.
