Kuwait: Workers of Kuwait Gulf Oil Company Protest

The Kuwait Gulf Oil Company (KGOC)’s workers’ trade union demanded implementing the final judicial rulings, that include paying a housing grant to workers of grade 13 and above, compensation for Fridays (weekly vacation) and sick leave for a period of more than three days, the payment of a wedding grant, and paying extra-working hours.

The trade union stated that the company did not implement the rulings and the workers’ rights through neither amicable nor judicial means.

The union called on the company’s administration to speed up the implementation of the provisions and to pay the workers’ dues. The trade union will resort to a general strike if the company continues violating the workers’ rights.
