Workers from the Iron and Steel Factory protested in the company’s Trade Union Committee headquarters to demand fair compensation after the decision to liquidate the company.
The General Union and the Workers’ Union Committee are calling for compensation of between £400,000 and £700,000 per worker, while the Ministry is proposing between £225,000 and £450,000 for each worker.
The President of the General Union of the Metal and Mechanical Industry said that the Steel Workers’ Compensation Committee has started negotiations with the Ministry of Public Enterprises in order to set the right amount of compensation for the workers.
