On Thursday, May 27th, the Italian director of the GMT textile factory in Al-Batin Kairouan, violently aggressed workers.
The director hit two female workers with a stick causing them injuries that necessitated taking them to Ibn al-Jazzar Hospital, where they are staying until now.
In a statement, the National Executive Office of the Tunisian General Labour Union (UGTT) condemned this uncivilized behaviour and called on the authorities to take judicial measures against the aggressor, and called on the Union of Industry and Trade to take a stand against this aggressor.
The UGTT also decided to file a legal complaint against the aggressor and the company he represents, calling on the Italian trade unions to condemn the aggressor, hold him accountable for his deeds, and prosecute the company he represents.
