In solidarity with the Gaza strip against the Israeli occupation, a general strike has taken place in the West Bank, occupied East Jerusalem, and the occupied territories in Israel.
The Palestinian News & Information Agency (WAFA) reported that the strike included all commercial and educational activities, public and private institutions, banks and transport.
The Palestinian government announced the suspension of work on Tuesday, May 18th, so that workers can participate in the protests.
Many Arab protestors stated that they received threats of dismissal from work in Israeli factories and workshops. Heads of Arab municipalities announced that they would support them by having volunteering lawyers to defend them in courts against any unjust and unlawful decision.
