The NGO Plan International announced, in a survey with case studies in Beqaa Valley farms, that children make 30% of the total workforce in Lebanon. Child labour is increasing in various sectors in the country.
The Middle East director of the organization stated that the severe economic crisis in Lebanon led to a noticeable increase in child labour after the outbreak of the COVID-19, especially in farms. Child labour will hinder their growth, education, future aspirations, and overall well-being.
