Doctors and pharmacists working in public hospitals in Kasserine widely participated in the sectoral strike that affected the whole country. The strike took place from May 3rd to May 5th. The participation rate was 95%.
A member of the Syndicate of Doctors, Dentists, and Pharmacists in Kasserine claimed that exceptional health services in the emergency blocks and blood filtering departments continued.
Protestors demanded developing the health sector and starting a dialogue aiming at solving the real problems of the sector. Their demands include having a basic law and pandemic bonuses.
A trade union official stated that 250 doctors died in job accidents. He warned to the immigration flux of doctors— 500 doctors leave Tunisia every year.
