Amnesty International received a cry for help from a Sri Lankan worker in a detention centre in Saudi Arabia.
The NGO reported that the 43-year-old woman has been working in domestic service in Saudi Arabia since 2019, and that she is currently being held in a detention centre with 40 other Sri Lankan women.
The daughter of the victim stated that her mother lived in difficult working conditions, that the employers did not pay her, and that she was not properly fed.
