Morocco has begun paying financial compensation to workers in eight sectors impacted by the imposed restrictions to control the spread of COVID-19.
The sectors included are, as mentioned in a statement by the Ministry of Economy and Finance, tourism, restaurants, party catering and event and meeting sponsors, gaming and entertainment spaces, press, cultural and creative industries, private sports halls, and nurseries.
The statement mentioned that these measures will include approximately 102,000 workers and that the financial compensations will be funded by the special fund for the management of COVID-19.
The statement, also, indicated that the value of compensations varies according to the sector and will be extended until next June.
