The workers’ representatives in the Tasiast Gold Mine comapny urge the labour director to intervene with the mediation committee to fix a dispute among its workers.
In a letter to the labour Director, the workers’ representatives stated that the mediation committee is required to take the necessary measures to oblige the company to respect the law and cancel all decisions that go against the legal codes.
This dispute arose, according to the workers’ representatives, after the company decided to transfer workers to a different sector. They denounced the company’s intendion of transferring the workers to get rid of them and dismiss them anytime.
The workers’ representatives demanded keeping the situation as it is and wait for the committee’s decision through the law.
