The Palestinian General Federation of Trade Unions announced that the report of the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) on Israeli violations against Palestinian workers will be added to file submitted to the International Criminal Court for monitoring the crimes of the Israeli occupation state against Palestinians.
The report showed that the deliberate neglect of occupational health and safety measures caused the death of many Palestinian workers in the Israeli labour market. Also, standing in crowded queues for hours at the Israeli military checkpoints caused the death of many workers as a result of suffocation.
The report highlights other Israeli violations including trafficking work permits for Palestinians in order to obtain work. The ITUC file exposes the parties complicit in trafficking work permits pointing to its violation of the International Labour Conventions No. 44 and 101 that prevent paying money for obtaining a job.
