The Board of Directors of the National Company for Industry and Mines (SNIM) took measures for the benefit of its workers that were described as “historical” and were welcomed by them.
The company approved a 15% increase in the workers’ wages, six salaries for ‘ordinary’ workers, five salaries for the middle-class category of workers, and four and a half salaries for the cadres.
A union official stated that the company decided to increase wages and grant incentive salaries and social coverage worth 750 million ouguiya.
He described the company’s decision as a precedent that came without any conflicts or problems.
A trade union source in the General Confederation of Mauritanian Workers (CGTM) explained that these measures came after a dialogue between the workers’ representatives and the company’s administration.
