Teachers in the White Nile governorate started a strike on March 23 that lasted for several days in order to urge fulfilling their demands including promotions, bonuses, and clothing allowance.
The Teachers’ Steering Committee claimed that the strike would only stop when the teachers’ demands are fully met.
The teachers protested mainly against exempting Khartoum and the White Nile governorates from these decisions.
