The workers’ strike of the Tunisian National Society of Railway on 23, 24, and 25 March, 2021 blocked all the company’s transportation of passengers, goods, and phosphate.
The immediate result was the cancellation of hundreds of trips which led passengers to look for alternatives.
The strike caused huge losses to the company. In recent years, the Tunisian National Society of Railway suffered a huge loss of billions due to the railways’ and trains’ conditions and the blocking of phosphate transport in many cases by protests.
Officials of the company said that the company’s situation is getting worse. Its losses exceeded $400 million during the last ten years.
