The General Federation of Jordanian Trade Unions welcomed the new legal provisions adopted by the Jordanian authorities to encourage married women and mothers to work. These provisions call on companies to include contracts with childcare centres in different regions and, when possible, to grant women bonuses to enable them to enrol their children in childcare facilities.
In a statement, the federation explained that the development of the child nursery sector is essential for women’s participation in economic activities.
