Al-Reef Young Society and the Bahraini Women Association organized an online seminar where they discussed unemployment of Bahraini women under the slogan “Bahraini Unemployed Women, Towards Decent Work, Stability, and Sustainability.”
The seminar was organized on International Women’s Day, March 8th. Women leaders attended the seminar including the Vice Secretary General for women and children of the General Federation of Bahrain Trade Unions.
The representative of the Federation demanded that this issue will be one of the priorities of the government’s economic and social policies.
Participants stressed the need to remove obstacles limiting employing Bahraini women. These obstacles include unequal opportunities and gender discrimination.
The participants demanded recognizing women’s competence and their ability to be equal in many jobs as well as their right to have equal privileges in the public and private sectors.
