During a raid carried out in 6 secret prisons in Bani Walid, the Libyan army managed to release 70 African migrants and arrest migrant smugglers and human traffickers.
The National Committee for Human Rights in Libya stated that this operation took place in the town of Bani Walid, which is about 150 km away from Tripoli and is famous for being one of the hubs of human trafficking and the exploitation of migrants who commit crimes including blackmailing their families by posting pictures of them under torture.
