At the request of their organization, the young doctors launched a strike on the first and second of March protesting against ignoring their rights and demands by the authorities, particularly the agreement of the 23rd of December 2020.
The head of the Young Doctors Organization stated that this strike aims to achieve many demands, including naming a hospital in the name of the martyr Dr. Badr al-din Al-Alawi and approving material compensation for his family.
Their demands, also, included ordering the creation of a National Commission for Public Health Reform within an official deadline and taking into consideration the organization’s suggestions.
The organization also called for fixing the financial and health status of young doctors working in the frontlines against COVID-19, and take into consideration their priority in the vaccine.
The organization warns that if their rights and demands will not be met, they will be further escalating their protests.
