The executive office of the Regional Labour Union in Kebili decided to go on a strike on March 17th for the workers of the petroleum companies in Al Faouar after the arbitrary dismissal of 8 workers from Mazarine Energy Company.
A trade union source explained that the strike is due to the arbitrary dismissal without resorting to disciplinary committees and trade unions.
The same source criticized the petroleum companies’ failure to respond to the readiness of the regional labour union to discuss the social responsibility of the petroleum companies, adding that this indifference of these companies to the workers’ and region’s rights will lead to a general strike in Kebili.
