The Arab Organization for Human Rights in Jordan believes that the Kingdom of Jordan has recorded a significant decline in public freedoms, freedom of expression, and the press. The organization stated in its annual report for the year 2019-2020 that “accusations of opposing the government system, violating the law on electronic crimes, and violating the law of publications and publishing” have become a barrier to the exponents of political, economic, and social reforms.
And after the report mentioned that international covenants require the worker to receive a wage equivalent to his/her effort, it stated that most workers in Jordan do not enjoy decent working conditions during their work and after their retirement.
The report notes that there is a lack of control over employment in general and child labour in particular. Also, many industrial cities lack public safety and health measures. Many companies violate the labour laws. Many workers do not have security and health insurance. Private companies do not respect the minimum wage.
