A media source mentioned that workers of Le Charcuterie Supermarket went on a strike in Naccache, Rabieh, and Byblos on the 27th February 2021 asking for the improvement of their conditions. However, the protestors had to be cautious in the light of COVID-19, the currency drop, and unemployment resulting from the lockdown.
The same media source explained that supermarkets are one of the few sectors that have managed to maintain regular profits during the lockdown. However, some of these supermarkets have unequally rewarded their workers and continue, like Le Charcutier, to pay their staff with wages that do not match their working hours.
