The General Federation of Jordanian Trade Unions affirmed that achieving social justice requires providing decent job opportunities, strengthening the system of social protection for workers, and eliminating all forms of discrimination at work.
In a statement issued on the occasion of the International Day of Social Justice celebrated under the slogan “A Call for Social Justice in the Digital Economy,” the Federation called for the developing a legislation related to flexible working.
The Federation noted that this occasion is an opportunity to affirm the right of everyone to work, provide equal opportunities for everyone, and to eliminate all forms of discrimination, particularly gender discrimination.
He explained that COVID-19 showed the weaknesses in the social protection system, especially for workers in the informal sector.
