Morocco: Ratifying the Law Regulating the Profession of Workers in the Social Field

The Moroccan Council of Advisors approved the draft law on organizing the profession of social workers who provide sponsorship services for others and carry out the tasks of raising awareness, training, counselling, and working on social integration.

The law defines the conditions for practicing the profession: the applicant should have a degree in one of the disciplines related to social work, enjoys his civil rights, practices his profession independently or is employed by others, and has a work contract in accordance with the legislative and regulatory texts.

The organizations will prepare the necessary training courses to strengthen the capacities of social workers and qualify them.

Social workers are subject to all national laws and regulations related to their field of work.
