The Egyptalum (Egyptian Aliminium Company) workers are protesting inside the factory for the fifth day in a row. They will only stop when their demands will be met, which they describe as legitimate and just. They will continue their sit-in until they get their payment of bonuses. They, also, reject the “unified list.”
The company officials intervened in an attempt to stop the sit-in. They, also, claimed that the company is having financial losses and a decrease in its revenues because of Covid-19.
It is worth noting that the Holding Company for Metal Industries, one of the Ministry of Public Works’ companies, is one of the largest holding companies and one of the most profitable public enterprise sector companies particularly in terms of exports.
