On February 15, 2021, trainee doctors started a strike in 37 hospitals in Khartoum and various Sudanese regions to support their demands of obtaining stable jobs and remunerative salaries.
This strike took place after the delay in salary payments for 11 months, working in difficult circumstances, and the unfair and abrupt dismissal once the training period ends.
This strike was supported by the Socialist Doctors' Association, which demanded that the Federal Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Finance pay the financial dues of doctors and provide them with permanent jobs in hospitals, and establishing a union of doctors in Sudan.
