Workers of the French company of liquefied gas in Mauritania (EMC) are having a negotiation with the company. Their demands include the implementation of the Mauritanian labour law, their work contracts, working hours, extra working hours, official holidays, health insurance, enhancing safety measures in the work place.
Having their demands ignored by the company, the workers stopped work for four hours, filed a complaint to inspectors, and called for a strike, urging the government to interfere and implement the labour law.
