The Southern Teachers and Educators Syndicate in the province of Aden called on a partial strike to demand achieving teachers’ duties and rights.
The statement stated that the government had ignored their demands despite signing an agreement with the relevant parties from the Ministry of Education and local councils, including the head of government. After four years of waiting, the government did not answer any of the demands.
Despite taking into account the political situation of the country and cancelling the strike last year, the government did not answer any of their demands. Accordingly, the General Union of Teachers decided to start a strike from January 24 to February 15 of 2021. If the union does not receive any response from the government, they will start a general strike.
