Saudi Arabia: Changes in the Saudi Labour Law

The Saudi Ministry of Human Resource and Social Development is negotiating changes in the labour system in order to develop the existing systems and regulations that concern workers—Saudi or otherwise.

These regulations include paying workers who work extra hours a compensatory leave and give a two-days leave to workers who work more than 8 hours daily.

As for women, these regulations suggest 14-week maternity leave with full pay for working women. Also, foreign workers will be covering the expense of the exit and re-entry visa fee instead of the employer.
