Contrary to Israeli workers, Palestinian workers did not receive their compensation after closing the enterprises due to COVID-19.
A Palestinian trade union source revealed that the losses Palestinian workers had after being denied their compensation reached 250 million dollars. The same source added that 96% of the Israeli labour market victims in 2020 were Palestinian workers in Israeli projects.
The Palestinian trade union source blames the Israeli labour market for its disregard of occupational health and safety laws, labour laws, and the delivery of work permits.
The General Union of Palestinian Workers emphasized that the Israeli authorities disrespect international agreements and discriminate against Palestinian workers. The union called, hence, on the International Labour Organization to put pressure on the Israeli authorities to treat Palestinian and Israeli workers equally.
