The minister of Labour, Employment, and Social Security, El Hachemi Djaaboub, says that there is a difficulty in how to compensate quarantined workers. He confirmed that there will be regulations that will protect the workers impacted by Covid-19.
The Algerian president, Abdelmajid Tebboune, however, decided to stop transportation and fire 50% of its workers particularly women.
After the propagation of the virus in Algeria, many workers found themselves in involuntary unemployment in many sectors particularly transportation sector because of the latter decisions.
Workers in small business were, also, faced with temporary unemployment. The pandemic had a negative impact on all private and small businesses which led them to stop working as a way to contain the propagation of the virus.
